Monday Manners Rule #13: Limit the Drink Solicitations

We had a late lunch on Saturday. 5PM late. Ordering a drink wasn't in the cards for us at that meal. The night ahead would be long and pacing the wine and spirits was important.

As expected, the waiter asked us if we wanted something to drink. We declined and opted for water. Then he asked again. And again. The final count was six times. Every time he walked by we braced ourselves for an interruption and a solicitation. I completely understand that he was just trying to make a better buck off our soup and salad selection, but asking for a drink order a second time is borderline offensive. Accept the "no," and get on with it.
